Overview

SmartCare/PS is an optional software feature on Dräger ventilators that functions as an automated weaning protocol. It continuously analyzes a patient's respiratory condition and automatically adjusts the level of pressure support accordingly. The system aims to stabilize the patient in a 'comfort zone' of spontaneous breathing and conducts automatic spontaneous breathing trials (SBTs) when the patient is ready, providing guidance for extubation.
